IAN BOWLES, advisory board

Ian Bowles is Managing Director of Rhumb Line Energy LLC, an advisory firm focused on business development in clean energy. He is also Senior Director at the Albright Stonebridge Group, a global strategy firm based in Washington, D.C. Mr. Bowles serves on the board of the Museum of Science and is an advisor to several clean energy companies.

Mr. Bowles returned to the private sector in early 2011 following four years as Secretary of Energy and Environmental Affairs under Governor Deval Patrick of Massachusetts. As Secretary, he created the first state cabinet agency encompassing both energy regulation and environmental protection and set the highest standards in the nation on greenhouse gas emissions, energy efficiency, clean energy incentives and building codes. His previous public service includes serving on the senior staff of the National Security Council under President Bill Clinton. Earlier in his career, he was Vice President of Conservation International. Mr. Bowles received his A.B. in Economics from Harvard College and a Masters degree from Oxford University.
